Apple’s new lineup of iPhone 13 smartphones are all now available. If you’re looking to upgrade to one of Apple’s cutting-edge new smartphones, now is the time to take advantage of a great deal.

From the carriers, the best deals are offered to new customers purchasing a phone and switching to their service (with a new phone activation), however, there are also plenty of trade-in deals, financing deals, discounts and, in some cases, product bundles being offered if you want to stick with your current cellular service provider and simply upgrade your phone.

Order Your iPhone 13 Directly from Apple

Apple offers its own in-house iPhone Upgrade Program, which allows you to pay for a new smartphone over 24 zero interest payments, but upgrade to the latest iPhone every year (and begin your payment schedule from scratch). However, if you keep the phone for the full two years, you wind up owning it outright. One benefit to this program is that AppleCare+ is included with the phone. Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Pricing

With its 6.1-inch display, the iPhone 13 Pro is available in four casing color options (blue, silver, gold, and graphite). For internal storage, you can choose between 128GB ($999), 256GB ($1,099), 512GB ($1,299) or 1TB ($1,499). The trade-in value for your existing phone, if applicable, will be deducted from these starting prices.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is Apple’s new top-of-the-line smartphone. It offers a 6.7-inch display, comes in the same four casing color options as the iPhone 13 Pro, and has four internal storage options – 128GB ($1,099), 256GB ($1,199), 512GB ($1,399) and 1TB ($1,599).

Apple’s Trade-In Offers and Discount Deals

Currently, Apple is offering between $110 and $790 for trade-ins of an iPhone 8 or newer. To schedule a trade-in from Apple.com, choose and configure the iPhone 13 model you want, and decide if you want to purchase the phone outright or pay monthly installments. Next, choose which cellular service provider you want to activate the phone with, or select the “Connect On Your Own Later.”

Keep in mind, Apple.com also supports special carrier deals and trade-in offers directly from AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile, so be sure to click or tap on the “Explore All Pricing and Special Deals” option (on the Apple website) before finalizing your purchase decision.

When asked if you have a smartphone to trade in with Apple, select “Yes,” select the trade in make and model, and confirm that the phone is in working condition. You’ll then be provided with Apple’s trade-in value for the phone. For example, if you’re purchasing a new iPhone 13 Pro Max and trading in a fully functional iPhone 12 Pro Max, Apple is currently offering a $790 trade in value for your old phone. However, if you’re trading in a working iPhone SE (secondgeneration), expect the trade-in value to be around $170.

Next, choose to pay for the new phone in full, or select the “Pay Monthly” option. The Apple website will then display a chart showing you the monthly payment installment plans offered by your selected carrier, Apple, and if you opt to pay for your purchase using an Apple Card. The benefit to using Apple Card is that in addition to zero percent interest, you get 3% cash back on the full cost of the phone right away and there are no early payment penalties.

Once you’ve finalized your purchase, Apple will ship your phone immediately (unless a backorder situation applies). Keep in mind, on orders placed immediately, Apple is reporting orders of some iPhone 13 models will deliver between October 12 and November 1 (or later), although same-day pickup at a local Apple Store may be available.

iPhone 13 Deals from AT&T

AT&T is offering up to $1,000 in bill credits with the purchase of an iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max if you select an eligible phone on a qualifying installment plan, add (or keep) a voice and data wireless plan costing more than $75/month, and provide an eligible trade-in with a minimum value of $180.The smartphone you trade in must be in working condition.

This deal can also be applied to an iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Mini, so over time, with the up to $1,000 in bill credits, the smartphone will wind up being free.

AARP members, military personnel, first responders, teachers, nurses and physicians, union members, and students can take advantage of the AT&T Signature Program to save $10/month per phone line on an AT&T Unlimited Elite plan and have activation or upgrade fees waved (for select activations or upgrades).

Depending on which iPhone model and system configuration you choose, the $1,000 in bill credits could translate to receiving the phone for free after 30 months. All iPhone 13 models come with 12 months of Apple TV+ for free.

Meanwhile, T-Mobile’s Now & Forever Plan allows new and existing customers to get an iPhone 13 with the company’s Magenta Max service plan and get up to $800 in trade-in credit every two years with Forever Upgrade from T-Mobile. Xfinity Mobile is offering $300 off the price of the iPhone 13 (offered as a monthly device credit) when you buy or upgrade to a select iPhone 13 model via a 24=month installment plan and activate the phone on the Xfinity Mobile network. Other restrictions apply, but no trade-in is required. (You can save more with an eligible trade-in, however.) How to Discover the Best iPhone 13 Deals

When shopping for the best deals to upgrade an iPhone, if you’ll be required to upgrade your cellular service plan (and potentially receive services you don’t need), consider the added cost to the monthly bill for the length of the service contract, not just the initial discount being offered on the smartphone. Plus, keep in mind the financing or installment plan you select for the phone is separate from the cost of your cellular service bill.

Determine how many monthly payments the financing or installment plan requires. It’s typically 12, 24, 30 or 36, which directly impacts your monthly payment amount. Make sure no pre-payment penalty applies, especially if you plan to upgrade to a new iPhone again next year.

Also, keep in mind that if you try to order an iPhone in a specific casing color or hardware configuration and are informed that what you want is currently sold out and on backorder, consider checking with other retailers, since each gets its own allocation of inventory.
