But Call The Midwife actress Helen George was running a marathon of epic proportions on Sunday when she topped off her day by presenting an award at the BAFTA Television Craft Awards.

Helen, 30, shed her running gear after completing in an impressive time of 04:25:54 before transforming into a total red carpet goddess a mere few hours later.

Helen recently confessed that she wasn't the most Marathon-ready candidate when she accidentally signed up last summer.

'I sort of agreed to do it while I was a little bit drunk,' George told The Radio Times this week. 'Then I woke up in the morning and thought, "Oh God, did I really do that?"'

Her stamina, she says, was built up by a series of 25-minute runs, three times a week to turn her from a ballet-lover to a cross-country runner, all in between her commitments to Call The Midwife.

She added: 'It was hard because we were filming the fourth series of Midwife at the time and we’d do a 12-hour day and then I’d go home and do an hour and a half of training.

Scrubbing up well: The duo, who met on the set of Hotel Babylon, made a perfect match

'Running 26 miles seems an achievable goal now, because my core is much stronger. And I'm a lot lighter.'

And hers was a success story on the day because she finished just 10 minutes outside her goal time of 04:15:00.

Though it might have had something to do with her evening commitments after she confessed to the magazine that she had to finish at a certain time in order to get her hair and make-up done for the event.
