Broiled Tomatoes Recipe - My Blessed Life™ (2024)

Recipes / Side Dishes

I’ve been on a tomato kick lately. It seems like I just can’t get enough of them. Maybe I just need the extra vitamin C! I’ve loved broiled tomatoes ever since I had them for the first time at Ruth’s Chris steakhouse several years ago. Yummo! I recently came up with my own version. This delicious broiled tomatoes recipe fits into the Whole30 plan, so it’s on my menu as much as possible!

Broiled Tomatoes Recipe

  • Large sandwich tomato{es}
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic clove, minced
  • Fresh rosemary, snipped
  • Olive Oil

Preheat the oven to broil. Cut the tomato{es} in half and gently score the fleshy tops so the seasonings can absorb.

Place tomato halves on a baking sheet or stone. Sprinkle generously with salt, lightly with pepper. Add a pinch of minced garlic and a sprinkle of fresh rosemary. Drizzle with olive oil.

Broil for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and enjoy…as soon as the tomatoes cool a bit. 🙂

Do you like tomatoes? What’s your favorite way to eat them?

  1. I’m with you on the tomatoes, Myra! I could eat tomatoes every day. I love broiled tomatoes, but I’ve never added garlic and rosemary to them. I’ll have to try this! (One of my favorite things about an English breakfast is that they serve broiled tomatoes (to-mah-toes!) alongside eggs and a rasher of bacon. Yum!)

    1. Hello Myra.
      I read you from Spain and here we have something called “gazpacho” which is basically a cold soup with tomato, cucumber and green pepper seasoned with salt, vinegar, olive oil and a tiny bit of garlic. It may sound weird but it’s deliciuos and really healthy!

  6. My mom had an easy cookbook, I loved making things from as a kid and broiled tomatoes was in there. We had a very large garden growing up with lots of “Jersey” tomatoes so I made them all the time, thanks for the reminder and the recipe as the book is long gone I’m sure 🙂
