Bradley Cooper and Matt Bomer kiss on the set of the biopic Maestro (2024)

Bradley Cooper and Matt Bomer were spotted sharing a tender kiss on the set of the upcoming biopic Maestro on Monday.

The 44-year-old White Collar alum held the 47-year-old America Sniper star's chin as they locked lips on a sidewalk next to a park in Manhattan.

Bradley is starring as famed composerLeonard Bernstein while Bomer is taking on the role of a clarinet player with whom Bernstein had a brief romance.

Bradley donned a beige trench coat over a white dress shirt with dark green polka dot bowtie and black slacks.

The two-time Grammy Award winner sported black dress shoes and carried a black leather briefcase.

The Hangover actor's wavy brunette hair parted to the side and gelled with a few loose strands curling over his forehead.

Matt was clad in white dress shirt with a dark blue and red tie under a gray wool coat with black trousers.

The Magic Mike XXL performer's dark hair was slicked back from his forehead with gel.

The Emmy Award winner had on brown leather dress shoes and a gold wedding band.

Bradley also wore a gold wedding band and was seen holding a cigarette. The two glanced to the side and beamed as they strolled across the sidewalk in one scene.

In another scene, Cooper placed both hands on hands on Bomer's chest as the pair smiled broadly at each other.

The actors were joined by Kate Eastman, who plays the wife of Bomer's character.

The Archive 91 star had on gray and black wool coat over an olive green tartan skirt with light brown leather pumps and black leather gloves. Kate donned a brunette wig and sported bright red lipstick.

She carried a camel-colored leather handbag and held a baby in her arms. The adorable infant was bundled up a bright blue one-side with a matching cap.

Kate looked on as Bradley and Matt kissed. Bradley then shared a kiss with Kate, who held the lapel of his coat.

Bomer and Eastman were seen beaming as they stood side by side and watched Cooper leave.

Bradley was then seen skipping ecstatically down the street as he flung his arms into the air. He beamed as he jumped for joy over the sidewalk.

An actor dressed in a tuxedo was seen standing next to a navy blue and beige baby stroller. He turned his head and looked to the side with a shocked expression.

Last week, Netflix released the first look at the film including behind-the-scenes photos and production stills.

In the images, Bradley completely transformed himself through the artful use of prosthetics and movie makeup into the Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner.

He appeared as the spitting image of the Broadway artist who created iconic shows likeWest Side Story.

In addition to starring, The A Star Is Born actor is also directing the project which will also featureCarey Mulligan and Maya Hawke.

It was nearly impossible to know that the tanned, white-haired and bespectacled man smoking a cigarette in new photos was really Oscar-nominee Cooper.

The leading man embodied the look and vibe of Broadway icon Leonard Bernstein in images from the biopic about his life.

Cooper's face was wrinkled and aged with the assistance of a crack team of hair and makeup artists.

He is seen in photos wearing a white button down and modified aviator eye glasses as he worked on composing some of Broadway's most well-know scores.

Other images from Maestro depicted Bradley as Bernstein from his younger years - looking far more like the actor that audiences already know and love.

The black and white retro shots see Cooper with co-star Carey Mulligan who is playing Bernstein's wife Felicia.

Maestro tells the story of the behind the scenes Broadway legend and his relationship withFelicia Montealegre, who stayed with him his whole life despite knowing he was gay.

Maya Hawke has joined the cast and will play Jamie Bernstein, Leonard and Felicia's daughter.Succession star Jeremy Strong will play the role in the film of John Gruen, the author who penned the Bernstein biography The Private World of Leonard Bernstein.

The film, which is backed by Netflix and co-written/directed by the Hangover star,examines the complex relationship between Leonard and Felicia.

Their romance spanned more than 30 years – from their first meeting in 1946, continuing through two on-off engagements, a 25-year marriage and three children as Bernstein grappled with his own sexuality.

Filming will began this May in New York with Cooper, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Fred Berner and Amy Durning all producing the movie.

Leonard Bernstein was a musical savant and worked as a composer, pianist and conductor and was honored throughout his career with seven Emmy Awards, two Tony Awards and 16 Grammy Awards.

He died in 1990 of a heart attack just five days after retiring from conducting.

Spielberg was initially set to direct the film and had brought Cooper on board to star but then handed the reigns over to the actor.

This will be Bradley's second feature in the directors chair following the most recent remake of A Star is Born.

'I [told Spielberg], "I always felt like I could play a conductor, but may I research the material and see if I can write it and direct it? Would you let me do that?'" Cooper told Variety.

'Steven has a lot of interests — he'll just choose one thing and all of the other things will be on hold,' he continued. 'I think he knew he wasn't going to make that movie for a while. He was kind enough to hand it off to me, and that's what I've been doing for the last four and a half years.'
