Still waiting for my wine, promised shipping has not happened although paid for twice, now end of Feb and no wine shipped, owners response was from some Fed ex details that were in error and the start of the whole problem. Dont have any idea of what it takes to get their attention. Have been trying to get my wine since July of last year, they can only be contacted by email and either dont read them or ignore what you say. If in half a year cant get my wine, I dont know what to do to get their attention
Everything you need in a Liquor store. The largest non chain store Ive been in ever. Very helpful staff. I needed a hard to get French wine. Is the only place I could find within 100 miles. Luckily they are conveniently located just a few mile away from me In Tarpon Springs, on Rt 19 South. Free parking
If youre looking for a quick place with good pricing to buy your booze youve found it. Staff is around if you need help but pretty much do there own thing and give you time to shop. I never felt rushed or in a hurry, even at the register when I was putting my change away. Very relax environment.
Can’t really say anything positive about this company. Takes months to get an order of two bottles delivered which were in stock and then they sent it to the wrong address. Followed by zero response from their support center because it’s fake support. 2hrs on hold and then it disconnect twice. Zero accountability on their Facebook page since they tell you to call support again. Never again and yet no resolution. What kind of business plan is this?
Ordered last night late, a limited edition. A couple bottles very difficult to find elsewhere. I showed up just before 1130 am. Was met by a very pleasant lady behind the counter, she asked my Name, then quickly grabbed my order, checked and verified my ID. Less than 2 minutes and perfect. The boxes on the LE were perfect.Excellent simple ordering online, simple to pay online. Fantastic quick and pleasant pick up.. They also ship, but today, I wanted to ride over to Tarpon.
Gentlemen was very helpful getting the product I was looking for from the back, as it was not available on the floor. Store appeared decently stocked, well organized and clean. Quick and smooth check out. Unfortunately no military discount.
Non-existent customer service. Ordered and asked for my wine to be shipped in October. Customer Service is unable to provide an update on when my wine will ship, simply stating that they are very busy. One month later, I am without the wine at Thanksgiving. Wrote to Robert (Bob) Sprentall, the CEO and have heard nothing after one week. His lack of response to a customer speaks volumes and I will chose to spend my hard earned money elsewhere.
Store was very over crowded for space, difficult to navigate with a shopping cart and sales associate I asked about a specific item seemed to think I would be unable to afford item I was asking about. Didnt appreciate his demeanor at all. Definitely will not be returning!
Today was my first experience with B-21. I was seeking a specific single malt whisky, that Total Wine & More did not stock. Not only was their inventory impressive, their prices were better. And they are far superior to Luekens, in both price and especially customer service. Crystal was respectful, informed and exceptionally helpful. I could not ask for a more positive experience. This place was great and I’ll be back.
I was on Total Wines site purchasing a case of wine when this site posing as Total Wines somehow captured my order. I attempted to contact them. However, They have no customer service via telephone. Their automated phone system is BS with a promise to return your call within 48 hrs. I sent an email to their so-called customer service dept. there was no reply Its already been6 days. My banks fraud dept. is involved and I plan to contact the Florida department of Liquor licenses . This appears to be a fraudulent operation!
HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE service - do not buy wine here to have shipped- they charge your card at purchase and again for shipping costs and then - NOTHING - Been trying for over a month to get PAID FOR wine shipped - can not speak to anyone by phone - they refer you t their webpage that has incorrect info - they ALWAYS use the excuse - shipping volumes are high, there are problems with shippers, etc. Never get back to you with an updated ship date. Have had many other orders shipped from other vendors during this time! HORRIBLE SERVICE
Place is scattered but has any alcohol you can think of. Friendly staff and well priced. I really enjoyed the fact they gave information on how the beverage should taste and what it was best for. I picked up a great irish whiskey and it tasted just like they described
Ive been ordering from B21 for years now and have had really good service the entire time. As a bonus, theyre always a bit cheaper than my local stores even with the $1/bottle premium on the case for shipping. Heck, Id probably pay more to not have to deal with leaving the house. The single time I had an issue, it was hassle-free to get a credit once I proved that the shipper was just mishandling my goods. If that ever changes then Ill update this review but Ill continue to spread the word until proven otherwise.
What happened to this company? Typically a great place to work with but lately there is no customer service. My emails are not responded to and they turned off phone support so literally no way to contact anyone. They just shipped two cases of wine to an address that I will not be and sent three emails prior to shipment telling them the same. These emails received no response and were ignored.
Ive ordered wine from B-21 for several years and everything usually goes well. I recently ordered several cases of wine and since we were in the mist of a heat wave, I selected the option to have the wines held in storage. When I received my invoice, I noticed that I was charged almost $100.00 in sales tax. I contacted customer service and heres their response. Does this make any sense? I tried to cancel the order and was told that I would be charged a 10% restocking fee.Hi John,As this order was already processed we are unable to remove the sales tax. Any orders held in storage requires FL state sales tax as that is considered its destination at the time of the sale.For future reference if you select a future shipping date at checkout, you will not be charged FL state sales tax, and your wines will be held in cold storage until that date, at which time the wines will be shipped to MD.
Great selectionOnly a fraction of their inventory is on the shelves. The young women working up front were not helpful when I asked for a favorite producer but I eventually found someone who let me look at their inventory in the computer and he found what I wanted in a few minutesIt’s great fun to look around but check the website ahead of time and come with an exact list if you want something particular.
Not a good experience at all. Not offered any help looking for something special for my daughter and when I asked for assistance - was told it is over there:( still no help) looked for a good 5 min myself with no one in the store. Thought maybe they would offer to help me find what I was looking for or offer assistance :(. No that did not happen at all !!! Went back to the counter and 2 female workers just looked at me - like what do you want:( didn’t offer or even smile and say how can we help you). We have always shopped at B21 and usually the staff goes all out to help you. Guess these two don’t want to work or make a sale.
Ugh.This place is just depressing...Two stars as ultimately I did get what I came forThey do have a great selection and hard to find products in Wine and spirits.Store is filthy, bathroom even worse. Staff is sloppy and do not know their own product line.The level of care is reflected in the dirty environment.
Everything is fine ss long as there are no shipping issues but if there are shipping problems they dont answer emails nor is there a phone number to call. Things are cheap for a reason. Im not inclined to continue to order wine here. Im willing to pay more to have somebody to call if there are any issues.
Never received my order. Two delivery dates have passed. I have received occasional responses to emails but only stating a new delivery date. I asked for my order to just be cancelled and no response. There’s no phone number for customer service. I’ve pretty much been charged for the order and left hanging for weeks. I fully understand that there’s a pandemic but your site clearly states that is factored into the shipping time. Still doesn’t explain away the poor customer service. Check reviews prior to COVID. This is nothing you can blame on COVID. I regret not checking these reviews prior to placing my order.Update: contacted via FB messenger and have now been blocked. I have disputed with my credit card company and suddenly my account shows the shipment has been delivered to LSO but LSO confirms that they have not received the shipment and has send confirmation to me.
I ordered a case of wine from b-21 for the first time less than a week ago. Not only did everything arrive as ordered, but it was a day early. Impressed, to say the least. Huzzah for a champagne and wine selection in my insanely rural backwoods town. Thank you, b-21. I feel like the possibilities are endless now!Also, Id like to add, my mother purchased a case of champagne the same day I ordered one. Her experience was the same as mine. We both plan to be loyal B-21 customers now!
Great customer service!I recently ordered a bottle of Monkey 47 distillers cut and was delivered the regular bottle. When I emailed the support team, I got a very quick response apologizing for the error and they immediately sent out a new order with the correct bottle. It was delivered the next day. Thank you for your help!
Do not order from this place. Their customer service is horrendous. They delivered the incorrect bottle of bourbon last week. I emailed (only way to contact them) immediately and nothing. Check their reviews here and social media - you will see this is how they choose to respond (or not) when they screw up. Spend your money elsewhere.
I started ordering from B-21 in March and find their selection and prices to be very good. However, the shipping has gotten worse and worse. My orders in March and April were turned around quickly, May was turned around in about 5 days However, in June, I’m going on two weeks since I placed my order and it has yet to ship even though the website states that it has. It seems from my experience and those of others, the go to response is “unprecedented times/COVID-19.” If that is the case, it’s clearly time to staff up or make whatever adjustments are necessary to accommodate the increase in demand so as to turn around customers orders faster. Although I love B-21, I’m now looking for other companies that can timely fulfill my monthly order.Update: Received my order today unexpectedly. While this was a nice surprise, the order was wrong. I had ordered 30 bottles of a Brut Rose and B-21, sent the Brut instead. I double checked the order and verified on the included order sheet that it was ordered correctly. Now, I’m not sure what I am going to do with 30 bottles of the wrong product. Adjusting from 3 stars to 1 star for messing up half my order.
Ordered 12 bottles of wine from their website. Received only 10 bottles, of which only one was from my original order (basically they gave me 9 random wines I never ordered). Perhaps my order was mixed up with another customers? Anyway this threw a wrench in my dinner wine pairing plans so I am rather upset. Their phone line also doesnt work, so am still waiting for customer service to get back to me after half a dayEdit: B-21 eventually resolved this issue by shipping me the correct wines + arranging pickup of the mis-picks. Still majorly inconvenienced but at least I received the wines I ordered
B-21 is a retail operation that does e-commerce as a necessary evil. They don’t understand customer expectations or how to communicate so if you’re used to buying online from good e-sellers you might be disappointed. Read the reviews.I was a repeat customer and ordered wine even when stock was too low to sell me a full case. Now they have 60 bottles in stock but won’t ship. Their policy is customer service can’t change that decision. Imagine that!If your business model is you come first and customers can take it or leave it you’re not a real e-seller.There are plenty of options for online wine merchants who are happy to help and ship quickly.
Prices are great. Service not so much. They cant be bothered to answer their phone. Of course Covid fault.The arrival dates of orders keep being pushed back but my CC was charged soon enough. What was 09/20 now is 10/26!? Of course Covid fault! In store a clerk swiped my CC quickly. handed it back to me and said it isnt good. I knew it was!!! Gave her another one, again swiped quickly, again she said it wasnt good. I asked her to punch in the numbers. She wouldnt do it. I suggested she swipe it slower. Eureka!!! All of a sudden it was GOOD! She was willing to let $$$ walk out the door because of her A) incompetence and B) attitude. It is a shame and hit and miss with customer service at this place. If you dont expect any you wont be disappointed! The prices however keep you returning. Just make sure to do your own research on the wines.
Order placed Aug. 12, 2020. Order said shipped Aug. 14, 2020. It is now Aug 30, 2020 and two days ago they back dated on Aug 14, Shipped to LSO hub via temperature controlled line haul carrier. Next tracking update will occur in 5-7 days.When contacting customer service this is the same response I receive. They claim they ship to my state, but I have seen reviews that said they never received product. So now Im out the money I spent with no idea if/when Ill actually get my order. Not to mention the last time I bought online and it was shipped through LSO they claimed that we werent home, but never came to the house.This place is a joke and I will not order again.
Was a Great Place at one time. Free shipping on 21st each month if, if you can get on the site, why dont they beef up their servers? Prices been going up everywhere on wine, but going up faster at B21. I buy a lot of wine, check out The Wine Buyer in NJ or Empire Wine in NY, or Total Wine if you have one in your area, they deliver free or ship UPS for very low price.
Horrible service. Received wine that had turned. I tried to return it - I called, filed a complaint online, and did everything else they said was needed - and nothing was ever done. Horrible company, Do not order anything from them unless you are willing to take a chance of not receiving the items even though you paid for it. I ordered wine / champagne from their webpage and they managed to mess up my address even though I put it correctly when I ordered online. (It shows up correctly on the recite they sent me confirming the charge for the order). I have reached out several times both online and I tried to call several times but no response except an automated email telling me not write more than one email..…
First experience with them. Ordered the wine almost a month ago and the shipping and service was beyond poor. They shipped it far later than indicated on the order, NEVER sent shipping information so it arrived at the FedEx office and was sent back a few days later. Once I found out, tried to call and they wont speak to anyone and have done nothing but tell me the wine I ordered (which has been sitting in warehouses and trucks for weeks) I can have for another delivery fee or pay a re-stocking fee (which was NEVER told to me). Responses to emails take anywhere from 2 to 4 days, so this has been going on for quite some time. Obviously customer service is non-existent to them.
So disappointed in B-21. This place has been my go-to source for fine wine purchases. I have told numerous people about them. Unfortunately, in the past year, their customer service has plummeted. It seems like theyve become more popular and cant maintain quality customer service. I have too many issues to mention. A key example: asked to have an order ship on a certain date. They couldnt locate part of my order for 2 weeks, then just shipped it out during a heat wave. One simple example, but there are many. At this point, Im just going to collect the items awaiting on backorder, apologize to the people who got my B-21 recommendation, and move on to several competing fine wine sources (who seem to care more about their customers).
If you have a month or longer to wait for your order, Im sure they are ok...Do not believe the estimated delivery times at all. Also, rest assured if your delivery has been delayed 2 or 3 times and you want to get an update on what is going on, you can call in and get a recording saying they do not accept phone calls. Again, if you have some indefinite amount of time to wait and are not placing an order for any specific reason, Im sure B-21 is fine. If not, theres plenty of other options out there. (It will be great irony if someone from there actually responds to this message.)
*edited after receiving itemI received my pre-order item from them - it took another week than expected date but Im happy as long as I received it.Little upset about wrong product information on site - they attached critique review for the bottle disgorged in July 2019, so I assumed my bottle will have same disgorgement date. However, when I received it today, it was November 2019. 3 month difference is not huge, but July 2019 disgorgement was important to me.
Great selection and the item arrived in two days, as scheduled. I called and spoke to Rhett because I thought there was a problem with my order. However, Rhett calmly and patiently explained my order, I quickly understood that there was no problem and felt extremely good about my customer service experience with B-21. Will shop here for almost all of my alcohol needs. They provide OUTSTANDING customer service!!!
They wont answer the phone because the website has the most accurate information on stock. The website said they had 16 bottles of the wine I wanted. So I drove an hour to the store, then waited another 40 minutes for someone to find it for me before giving up. The did offer to call me if the found it. I assured them that I would not be returning.
Great selection of spirits here. If you are looking to wet your whistle or that special gift for someone this is your place to find it. They are always fully stocked and very helpful staff. I highly recommend checking this store out. By the way I really love the name.
Thanks to all the wonderful staff. I had a co*cktail @ Zekos. Had a brand of liquor in it Ive never had. Thats when I googled your store. I drove straight there before heading back to Tampa. The staff walked me right to stuff I wanted. So I purchased 3 bottles. Kudos.. B-21 rocks!!
Customer Service is very poor! (1) The initial shipping date was pushed back several times with no notice. (2) The order page showed confusing status; when I sent to inquiries to customer service, the first went unanswered and on the second inquiry I was given a different date, further out. (3) The sent the wrong wine (a similar wine with a slightly different name. (4) The phone is just a recording; you cant talk to anyone about a problem. (5) I sent them emails with a picture of the bottle and different product name on their own original order. (6) I sent three emails before I received a response to the second one. (7) They claim it is what I ordered despite the difference in names. (8) I asked him to escalate to a supervisor or an owner, and got no response yet. (9) Why not buy from someone else who has better customer service. (10) Nowhere in this process did they indicate any willingness to help a customer with a problem. They just said you are wrong.As for the owners reply, they still havent read the initial correspondence. The order confirmation sent to me on Sun, Nov 15, 4:45 PM, clearly says Solera Reserva. It is in the screen capture below. The owner and his customer service team refuse to look at this.
I placed an order on April 2. On April 10, I still have not received even a confirmation of when the order will ship, and I cannot reach anyone at the store. Dont worry, though - they still charged me several days ago! If you want to pay someone to *not* send you wine and spirits, I recommend using this service. And while I understand COVID-19, it would still be reasonable for them to not take the money if they cannot fulfill the order or, at a minimum, have someone answering the phones.
I ordered 2 cases of wine on-line. These bottles were hard to find, and we’re priced well. It was shipped promptly in excellent packaging, at a reasonable cost. It arrived within days (I’m about 6 states away). I’m really happy with B-21’s service and will definitely order again!
Love the store and selections but the telephone service leaves me scratching my head. I have called about an order during normal business hours two days in a row. Have made four phone calls, not once did I get a person on the line. One of the four times I left my phone connected to 47-minutes listening to please wait. Freaking ridiculous.
They had my wine YESSS but i didnt appreciate when i bought a simple wine glass for $10.99 and it was marked on a sticker on the glass for $9.99 and NO i did not change the price it was in the front last on the rack. Usually if a customer sees a price that was accidentally tagged they get it for that price but a lady with Im not sure if she was a manager or not had argued with me about that she had it tagged on the front of the cart for $10.99. Not good customer service the curly haired clerk was nice
We ordered something that we could not find anywhere locally and it was set to ship yesterday. Due to the unprecedented operating environment, processing and shipping were (understandably) delayed. Our plans changed such that we needed to cancel or re-route the order. I emailed B-21 and Julie was excellent - she assured me that the order could be cancelled, fully refunded, and apologized for the delay. I would not hesitate to order through B-21 in the future.
I have used B-21 for years. Historically, they were reliable and had great customer service. Something there has recently changed. Three of my last four orders shipped late compared to when B-21 said the order would ship. Since the orders have to have an adult sign for the order, it is now impossible to know or plan when B-21 will finally deliver. I canceled my last order and will no longer order from them due to their inability to ship when they commit to ship.
Largest liquor store Ive been in. My husband and I are only upset because we didnt have time to really go through it. We saw bourbons and ryes wed only read about! It was amazing. We took a card and the next time we read about something we cant find at home (we were on vacation) well check to see if they ship to our state. One of the best finds on the trip!
Unprofessional and dishonest.I recently ordered 12 bottles in their website, of which 3 of them were of a high end Portuguese wine. Instead of sending me what I ordered they shipped me instead a cheaper wine with similar name... by mistake... When I called them to complain, they tried to convince me that it was the same wine with a new label...!!!.Luckily I knew the difference and pushed them back. So they changed their approach and told me that the wine I ordered was supposed to be much more expensive than what was priced in their website and they would not be honoring my order and my choices were to keep the cheap stuff or send it back to them. AND that they would NOT credit me until the wine was back in their warehouse.By the way, I still dont have my credit and I am still waiting for them to send me a box to ship their wine back.What a joke... unprofessional and dishonest.
I would NEVER order anything from this company. They won’t answer the phone and I get that, but they won’t reply to support emails either. I have an order they said was ready to ship 4/3/20 and gave me a tracking number but FedEx says they were never given the package. They charged my card but won’t respond to requests. BE WARE!
We tried to call this morning to check if a wine was in stock; we were on hold for over an hour which gave us enough time to actually drive the hour to get to the store to find out. Thankfully there were two bottles left and we were able to purchase them. When my gentle elderly friend asked Ashley behind the register about the long hold time, she accused my friend of being rude and became defensive. we were not thanked for our purchase nor were we apologized to that we were on hold for over an hour. I will not be back.
Dont believe their shipping times & dates. VERY VERY SLOW. I ordered champagne for a birthday. Seller sent it out AFTER its estimated arrival date and despite sending an email suggesting it had shipped. I would have sourced locally had I known, even at a higher price.
Very unhappy customer, what happened to this company ?I have ordered from B-21 many times before, I recommended them to family and friends, never had a problemI placed an order on Dec 2, to be shipped Dec14, which would have gotten there in time for Christmas. One order shipped, but the second did not Cust service which is almost impossible to reach told me on Dec21, they had just shipped the order(that was a lie) the order did not ship until Dec 26The order of 4 bottles of champagne will now arrive Jan 2 , not in time for Christmas, not even in time for New YearsIM so disappointed
I agree completely with Davids review. Really good selection and competitive prices. However, customer service is awful. Have dealt with a few of their employees who are outright nasty and end up ignoring emails- not how you run a business. Hopefully the owner will improve the customer service. I started using other companies to ship wine simply because if you ever have a problem they do little to nothing to rectify the problem.
My experience was nothing but a disappointment. Website revels about refrigerated vehicle delivery. My wine arrived at my store at 107°F via UPS with no insulation. Total waste of $150. I sent emails and received no reply for days. Reply said I should have read the return policy to see their Weather Advisory policy. Who looks at a return policy to find a contradictory statement? Theres a credit card dispute coming their way after I return this undrinkable swill. Bad wine, bad business. Suggest you deal with people who know and care about wine and how to communicate with customers.
I ordered 12 bottles of the 2020 Wine Spectator wine of the year (five minutes after it was announced), Marques de Murieta Castillo Ygay Grand Reserva 2010 and the page said they had 60 bottles in stock, a few hours later they canceled my order saying they ran out of it before my order came in. Fake news!
Have done business with B-21 for years. First problem, and theyre nowhere to be found. Numerous promises to ship order, promises to find a lost bottle, promises to re-contact, all not done. Asked for help with an order problem, no contact. Called again and asked to speak with the owner (Bob) and was told he was out of town, and even if he wasnt he wouldnt do anything to help. Almost unbelievable really, worst customer service Ive experienced in many years of buying a lot of wine all over the country. Highly recommend you do business with reputable shop that values your business. This is not that shop.
I had a shipment delivered within Florida. When it arrived I was initially disappointed to find that one of the bottles Id purchased had leaked (through no fault of B-21s). Justin and Doug refunded my order and offered to cover my shipping on my next order no questions asked! Excellent selection (the best Ive seen of any online store that will deliver in FL), I will definitely be purchasing from them again.
You will find an impressive selection of wine, beer and liquors here. Not being at all experienced with different wines, I asked one of the attendants for some advice on some of the more expensive wines. I wanted to get something special for my wife and mother-in-law for Christmas. After asking what they (wife and mother) liked, they asked how much I was looking to spend. Within seconds they steered me towards a $45.00 bottle of Machete. I bought two and they were a big hit.
Please be careful with B-21. I will not go back to B-21. My B-21 order cost me more than local wine store because of B-21 Policy and Procedures as explained by Julia in a recorded phone conversations. There were two delivery attempts. For second attempt, I did get an email that boxes were at FedEx. For first delivery attempt, there was no email that the boxes were at FedEx. B-21 made me pay for the second attempt and charged me for delivery of six bottles, when I had just ordered twelve. I had to pay $36 for delivery. It should have been $0.
B-21 shipped a case of 2016 Chateau Pontet Canet to my house in Indianapolis. The price was $75 less than my local wine shop, FedEx Ground shipping was free, and it only took 4 business days to arrive. I deeply appreciate the great selection, service, prices, and timely delivery. Looking forward to years of enjoyment from these bottles (but not before 2026!).
I was sent a faulty tracking number, and rather than send me a valid one they ignored my 2 requests. I called 8 times over 3 days, and was “disconnected” 4 times. The other 4, I spoke with someone who was pleasant and sounded eager to help, but each time I never heard back. After getting the run around for days, I cancelled the order, and was told they didn’t know when i’d Get a refund. As a small business owner myself, i depend on my clients to survive, and treat them like gold. Problems...mistakes happen, I get that. But showing your customers utter ignorance toward a problem with their order, to the point of borderline contempt when they have to follow up on their own requests again and again is a surefire way to make your competition very wealthy. The way to impress a client is through the speedy resolution of their problem, not disregard and contempt. I’m glad I tested this vendor with a small order of one case of liquor before handing them the responsibility of something much larger. These were supposed to be gifts for a New Years party I have for clients...because I take care of mine and want them to come back, unlike B-21.*response to response*No, you didn’t. I heard “hmmmm...we’ve never seen that before. I’ll send it over to shipping and get back to you” which never happened. Nobody ever offered to send out another one in time. I need it Monday. I followed up this morning to find out rather than sending another ASAP, you are having the original returned, and cancelling the order. I said to your staff yesterday if they couldn’t get one out to me tomorrow, I would need to cancel and procure something locally. I get that it’s a profit/loss decision whether to overnight a case of liquor to a customer with zero history with your business, and honestly, not one I would expect you to make in my favor. But the fact that the first reply I get in this whole ordeal is to a bad review on google says you care more about how you look online than treating your customers with respect. And nobody at your company extended even a gesture of good faith, and I even got the impression I was inconveniencing THEM (with one exception, I wish I could remember her name, as she was VERY nice).
Just so everyone knows. If you have a order on hold to be shipped at a certain time. They have a wall of stacked orders in the middle of the floor and all over. The boxes get crushed, and misplaced. The warehouse is small and a joke of a company. They will stack your order somewhere and it will take them weeks to find it. They have unsafe work areas as well, with no ladder to be used. The employes use the shelves to stand up on all the way to the top just to pull down a wine. You can barely move in the warehouse as well. The owner is a joke, who over orders and makes the warehouse even more if a fire hazard as is. If OSHA showed up to this establishment they would be shutdown.
Another bad review for B-21. There is a systemic problem with them delivering a proper customer experience and it is ultimately the job of the Director of Operations to make sure that a business is meeting its customer obligations. When I corresponded with the Director of Operations about the problems I was having he told me I am not a fit as a customer. Hmmm. If a Director of Operations is not customer focused, the staff follows their leader and it becomes a virus that infects the culture of the entire operation. Heres why the Director of Operation called me a bad fit?1) I emailed in January and politely asked Can someone please call me? I have been reaching out and cant get anyone to pick up the phone2) I place two orders in Jan / Feb 2020. I emailed and requested shipping in February. My email was not tended to. Wine wasnt shipped.3) After a 2nd request B-21 promised shipping. They missed the promised date. So, I requested again and they still did not ship.4) I corresponded with the Director of Operations and complained that it is impossible to get a hold of the company and described the broken promises. I said I was done chasing them up and asked B21 to cancel my order.The Director of Operations told me I AM NOT A FIT.... I think I found the source of the systemic problem.
I just stopped by to pick up some wines for a WSET Level 3 Wine Taste and couldn’t get anyone to help me. One guy said he was “kinda busy filling shipping orders”. When I went to the front, I was told there wasn’t anyone to help cause they were busy in back. Sorry B-21, I’ll take my business elsewhere.
Ive been to a number of liquor stores, and the selection here is nothing to sneeze at. They had a number of liquors that Ive never seen before, and havent seen again since. They also have a nice selection of hard to find wines. The beer selection was a bit lacking. Prices seemed normal.
For those of you still under the impression that “the customer is always right”, this is most definitely not the store for you. Their omnipresent ad in Sunday’s Tampa Bay Times includes an offer of a 10% discount on the purchase of a case of wine. This is followed by an asterisk, and at the very bottom of the page the asterisk is defined as “ B-21 case discount valid on any 12+ bottles of 750ml bottles of wine”. In a different section there is a statement that prices ending in an 8 are excluded from further discount. Believe there are 33 bottles of wine featured in the ad, only 9 of which do not end in an 8. But back to the asterisk; I chose 12 bottles and upon checkout was told that only four would be discounted. I mentioned the ad (any bottles) and was promptly confronted by a manager (?) who seemed to treat me like something stuck on his shoe, stating that “no the ad doesn’t say that” - well, I’d suggest that he should actually check the ad - and perhaps brush up on his customer service.
Drove an hour because they do not stock checks over the phone because their online inventory is accurate. When I got there I was informed their inventory is off and they did not have any of the item that shows online or in their system as being in stock. Go to Luekens which is right up the road
I ordered wine in April, was told it would ship in May. Went online told for 2 weeks its processing, no wine. Got a response that it went to cold storage by mistake, would ship within a week.Tried to call all I got was the prerecorded message that said, email us we are not taking any calls we will get back to you in 48 hours.. Multiple emails later 2 emails saying its in process. no wine no call back. Not like my previous experience.
I just received my second Fed-Ex shipment from B-21 and Im really pleased. It was exactly the wines I wanted but could not get in my rural location, at really great prices and Fed-Ex delivered to a hold location (a Walgreens in my town) so I didnt have to be home to sign for it. Delivery was 4 days from when I placed my order. No more grocery store wine!
DO NOT order from this company for west coast delivery!!!Ive placed many orders for wine over the internet and never had a problem. Ordering from B-21 was the first time I had ever received a case of wine in a regular box, no protection from heat, and shipped FedEx ground (which took 9 days to arrive in California). I was shocked! A contacted their customer service which resulted in excuses that wine can be stored up to 100F without damaged and because the owner has been in the business since the 60s, he knew best. They have lost my business.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.... Beware. Realized that we ordered wrong size bottles, and asked for immediate return. Had to speak with owner who travels alot. Sent us an email saying that if we wanted to return (our unopened box) they would charge 10% restocking PLUS shipping. STAY AWAY
Ive been buying fine wines, spirits and beer from this place for years. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and their selection is second to none. They have the best prices in town even cheaper than the warehouse clubs. If your looking for that special bottle or beer, wine or spirits this is the place to go!!
B-21 has and always will be the GO-TO liquor experience in the Tarpon Springs-Palm Harbor area!!! The best, most knowledgeable ,and experience staff. Their prices are better than most other stores but their staff is what keeps me continually buying from this first rate LIQUOR STORE!!!
When you walk in sign says masks must be worn!! Within first minute in store both people be behind counter and customer at register and elderly employee on phone by door and another customer in store shopping none wearing a mask properly all around their chin. This was at about 3:30 today. And you wonder why Covid-19 won’t go away and unemployment is so bad 😡 This store should be shutdown
My wife and I used to enjoy shopping at this store: the wine selection is quite extensive, and the prices are good. That was until last week, when I made the mistake of asking one of the employees for his opinion about a bottle of wine I had chosen. The little man, whose name was Ralph, proceeded to make a number of snide and presumptuous remarks about my taste, experience and budget regarding wine. My wife and I left the store feeling totally insulted by the little twit, so much so, that we decided to go back and speak to the store manager about his behavior. Bad idea: the manager, named Byron, offered nothing but a hollow I an sorry and made it clear to us that he had no intention of redressing our complaint, even though Ralph was present at the store. When I insisted that an apology was owed to us, Byron did bring Ralph over, but, predictably, the little weasel denied ever having said anything offensive to us. Seeing that the whole discussion disintegrated into the playground mode: You did so! Did not! Did too! (with Byron watching from the sidelines like a casual bystander), we decided to cut our losses and let Google Review take care of what clearly should have been the store managers job.
I had a bad experience with B-21 Wine Company. I ordered a case of wine that recently became very popular. A day later I received an email that an error occurred and they were actually out of inventory and should not have processed the order. When I placed the order I had a few other options as to where to buy, but by the next day the wine was sold out. I asked if they could do anything to help me out and all they said was “sorry for the inconvenience”. They were not very professional.
Horrible Packaging, even worse customer service. I ordered from B-21 off of the Vivino app. They want me to go purchase proper packaging and mail it back to them for a refund what a joke of a company. This could have been easisly avoided with a little common since in their packing department. 9 bottles loosely placed into a box will never arrive not damaged.
B-21 Wines is an institution in the Tampa Bay area and wine community generally. Anybody who knows wine knows B-21. A multi-generation, family-owned company, who regularly if not always beats the price of the national chains. Ive been purchasing wine at B-21 for 30 years. You could not find a more knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. Who else will ship you a case of wine for free 2 day delivery in the state of Florida! Their newsletters are very informative, the website very easy to use. From rare sherry, difficult to find wine, rare spirits, B-21 almost always has it. I drink a bottle of wine every day of the week, and most of hit was purchased at B-21. And by the way, Im in Naples. Thats how good they are! Highly recommended!
Beware if shipping out of state! For a few years I ordered wines from B-21 and when the law changed and they could no longer ship to my state they wouldnt refund me for my pre-ordered cases ($456 worth of wine). They contacted me in April when the wine arrived, and initially I said yes, Ill figure something out. Within a week I realized that there was no affordable way to ship the wines to myself and when I asked for a refund, they said no. (The wine is sitting in their warehouse, these are Bordeauxs they can certainly sell to someone else!) I disputed the charge on my credit card who took up the fight with B-21 and I received my refund. I am a Client Services professional and B21s customer service is terrible. BEWARE! They dont even deserve 1 star.
I wanted to see if they had a certain beer they didnt have it there but I havent found any place down here that has that particular beer for my hometown but this place is upscale its a real nice place if you want to buy a bottle of wine or fancy liquor I spoke to Drew he was really nice and he knows material I would recommend this place if youre looking for more than beer they have beer
Belligerent owner(?)/cashier was screaming at her pizza delivery guy while we checked out. She called him stupid. She made a scene over nothing. It made us very uncomfortable and the woman was unapologetic when I told her and didnt say any sorries until we were walking out the door with our purchases. That was horrible & now we have to cut our prolonged business of years to this place.e: owners have taken care of it. thank you for a response and for the proper action!
I just ordered several bottles of something that was impossible to find elsewhere. I called them about a question on the order after it was place, and they were very helpful and friendly. Got the products quickly - and everything was in one piece!
Wine lovers – beware of B 21. I purchased a couple of Chardonnays for a dinner party, one Frei Bros. and one 2013 MacMurray Russian River. I poured four glasses of the MacMurray and our first sip made it clear it was over the hill (funky and dark yellow with a heavy raisin nose). We rinsed out our glasses and moved on to the Frei Bros., which was excellent. I just stopped by the store to return the rest of the bad wine and was told it was their store policy not to replace the wine because the bottle wasnt full. I explained I had poured four glasses for the guests and corked up the remaining wine, which I showed the clerk along with my receipt. Thats the store policy and Im just an hourly worker the employee said rudely, throwing up his hands and walking away. I went to the cashier and was told the same story (less rudely), with the additional comment that wine distributors would not take back wine unless it was mostly full (its my understanding this is not the policy of the vast majority of wine distributors). I have been buying wine from a number of wine stores in the area and have never had a problem returning the occasional off-bottle. I will be e-mailing this information to my expansive list of wine drinking friends.IN RESPONSE: First, there was the typical 5th glass left in the bottle. Second, surely, in your surveillance, you noticed how incredibly rude your representative was...yet no apology from you. Third, instead of lecturing me, you might want to check out your remaining stock of the MacMurray. Finally, I AM/was your customer for the past 25 years.
Mixed bag, 5 stars on delivery and price and selection......But ZERO stars on customer service.Let me explain: I must have ordered (over the internet) at least a dozen times in the last couple years from B-21, typically on the 21st of the month when you get free shipping for full cases.On March 21st 2015 I attempted to order a mixed case of wine: 11 x 750m bottles and a 1.5 L bottle. The order was well over the $150 minimum purchase for free shipping, but the website kept adding $24 for shipping.I ordered anyways and sent an email to customer service requesting a refund of the shipping charges.What I got back was a very brusque reply from their Director of Operations telling me my order was cancelled because large format bottles were excluded, and a please see the attached policy (you dumb ding dong being implied).OK, so I have no problem if the policy states that clearly and unequivocally, but therein lies the problem: Other than the guys email where he tells me large format bottles are excluded, THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE that states it. Even the link (which he obviously didnt even read) does not state it. When I politely point this out to the guy (Justin Hammer is his name BTW) and ask him if he read his own policy link and was aware that the large format exclusion was not described therein, I got no reply.2nd request, no reply. 3rd request, no reply.I mean, look, Im a big boy, if I missed something I missed it. Too bad so sad. But at least Ill admit when I make a mistake and apologize and try to make it right.A few years ago when Gary Vaynerchuk was running Wine Library and they messed up an order, you know what he did? Shipped all the rest of my orders for free for a full year, thats what he did. Earned my undying loyalty to that company until long after he left, too. Now I am not saying thats what I expected here, but with the myriad of choices for internet wine out there (I order regularly from Bottle King, Canals, Flemingtons, Wine Exchange, and Garys to name a few) I would think the proverbial cold shoulder treatment would not be the route Id choose if I were calling the shots.
